sendmail error /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 77: unknown configuration line "
807559Jan 28 2002 — edited Feb 6 2002I am unable to send mail, I could last week, the only system change is the installation of the Solaris 7 suggested patches (and ran install_cluster script).
bash# cat /etc/hosts | /usr/ucb/mail -s "test mail" peter@sybprod
bash# /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 77: unknown configuration line
"/etc/mail/local-host-names"
/etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 472: fileclass: cannot open /etc/mail/trusted-users: World writable directory
... hangs here.
/var/adm/message also shows the errors
Jan 29 10:11:43 sybprod sendmail[22771]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line
77: unknown configuration line "/etc/mail/local-host-names"

I have restored the /etc/mail directory taken prior to the Solaris 7 patches, but this gives the same errors.
Any ideas appreciated.
Peter.
