SEnding DB E-mails via MAPI

Dear all,
is it possible to send emails over MAPI protocol from Oracle Database 10g?
I found excellent article for sending emails, but it seems that is used only for SMTP [Email-doc|http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/Utl_Smtp_Sample.html], and system administrator told me that our company use MAPI for sending emails....
