Sending a Ctrl+Alt from a Mac

One of our users uses a Mac to access her SGD v4.3 webtop. One of her apps is the VMware Server console. She uses this console to admin some virtual machines she has responsibility for.

When you click into a virtual machine console window using VMware Server Console, it grabs your mouse. To release your pointer you press Ctrl+Alt.

The problem she is having is that she can't seem to send a Ctrl+Alt to the console application, which means she can't get her mouse back. She has to actually quit the Apple X11 application, and her browser before the mouse comes back.

Has anyone seen this before or know of a way to work around this?
