What task are you or your users trying to accomplish?
We regularly run reports in Textura to support time-sensitive work—payment reviews, internal and external meetings, audits, and general reconciliation. Today, once a report is submitted, the only option is to stay in the product and wait or remember to come back later and check if it’s finished. That creates friction, especially when you’re multitasking or jumping between meetings.
If this is an existing task, how would you like to see this task enhanced or improved?
I’d like report files to be sent proactively once they’re ready. The ideal experience would be:
- An email notification when the report is complete, with the file attached when allowed
- A complementary in-product notification for visibility inside Textura
- Organizational configuration to control whether email attachments are allowed (to manage data leakage concerns)
- A secure download link as a fallback if attachments are disabled or the file is too large to reliably send via email
This would remove the need to babysit reports or manually check back.
Who (what role) needs to be able to accomplish this task?
This would mainly benefit:
- Project accountants
- AP/AR teams
- Controllers
- Project managers
- Anyone responsible for payment processing, reviews, or reporting
Basically, any role that relies on reports to make decisions or prepare for meetings.
What Textura pages (if any) do you expect to be affected by your idea?
- Report configuration pages
- Organizational settings
- Messages
Ideally, this would integrate cleanly into the existing reporting and scheduling experience.
How and why does this idea contribute to the success of your organization?
This would significantly reduce wasted time and mental overhead. People wouldn’t need to stay logged in, refresh pages, or remember to check back later. When reports arrive automatically, teams can focus on analyzing the data and making decisions instead of tracking report status.
It also helps ensure critical information isn’t missed right before meetings or payment deadlines.
What will the business impact be on your organization if your idea is delivered?
- Faster access to information
- Fewer delays in reviews and approvals
- Less frustration with reporting workflows
Overall, it would make Textura feel more proactive and aligned with how teams actually work.
How much time or cost savings do you expect to be affected by this improvement?
Even saving a few minutes per report adds up quickly. Across multiple users and recurring reports, this could easily save several hours per week. More importantly, it reduces the risk of missed or delayed decisions, which can have real financial and operational impact.
