Send mail through adf application

Hi All,

Am using 11.1.1.7 jdev.

I need to send mail from my application on a particular action.

Now i have done some sample sending mail using gmail smtp examples.

Guide me

1.Do i have to configure in my local weblogic server smtp .if so how i do.

2.how to send mail ,i mean access them to send mail.

I got smtp server and port no details. what else i do need .
