Select REPLACE does not work

UPDATE XXGFE_CUSTOMER_PROFILE
SET STANDARD_TERM_NAME = REPLACE(STANDARD_TERM_NAME,'¿','ías')

It does not work properly, STANDARD_TERM_NAME value is '30 D¿'
