Select list LOV no longer showing NULL values

I am experiencing something quite odd ... I have three select list LOVs on a page. They all appear to be the same, with the exception of the source queries/lists. Two of the three are all of a sudden NOT showing NULL values, even though they are directed to do so. Also, these two are using the first available value in the query result/list as the NULL value. Changing to a named LOV has no effect.

Anyone have any idea on what might be causing this and how I can fix it?

We are using APEX 3.2. I don't have control over upgrading, so that is not an option at this time.
