select for update not working
772940Jul 12 2010 — edited Jul 12 2010When I issue a "select for udpate" statement in isql or oracle sql developer the execution is not terminating and so am not able to see the result.
One more question I have learnt that select for update would apply a write lock on the table row. Will the lock persist till I update & commit the transaction or will the the lock be released after the execution of current "select for update" statement.
