seeking information: Secure Telnet configuration (port 992) in Solaris 11.2

JustHowardJun 27 2016 — edited Jun 28 2016

Greetings to all,

I've just about exhausted my internet searches, and Google is just not kicking the answer I need, so I am appealing to the blog group here to find out if someone/anyone has set up secure mode telnet (via tsl/ssl) in Solaris 11.  I'm not finding any good notes on "what" needs to be done, and I'm not seeing what I'm hunting in the Oracle Solaris Libraries.  (It may well be in there, - I'm not seeing it). In advance, yes, I'm aware of SSH (and I am a user of SSH).  I have a specific application that can use secure telnet for login/access - and it MUST be telnet (not ssh).

So, how about it?  Has anyone out here enabled tcpwrappers for Telnet in a secure mode?  If so, can you help me out and/or point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help and as always,

Have a great day!

All the best,

Howard
