Secure upgrade from 10.2.0.4

GuiRaimbaultMar 7 2014 — edited Mar 11 2014

Hi,

One of my clients uses Oracle Database release 10.2.0.4 but cause to many known vulnerabilities on this one, he wants to change/upgrade.

Looking for a secure release (without known vulnerabilities), I'm starting thinking no one is safe.

Every time I find on "cert.ssi.gouv.fr" or "cvedetails.com" related vulnerabilities.

I also know there are "critical patch update" from Oracle.

So... it's very hard to identify a secure / vulnerabilities fixes updated release and that explains my message.

==> Which release of Oracle Database Server is safe in the 10.x branch ? (to avoid major update for my client in order to limit possible issues)

In 11.x branch? And in 12.x branch?

My definition of a secure release is one without known vulnerabilities or one with but for which a critical patch update exists and fixes ALL vulnerabilities issues.

I'm waiting for your help / your answers.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

GuiRaimbault
