Secret Hidden Filters

brenda_strongFeb 17 2024 — edited Feb 17 2024

I'm still trying to figure out how to fix a report that's taking about 5 minutes to load. (I didn't create this!) I've tried to recreate the entire BMM model, and interpret all of the existing calculations and filters. No matter what I do, the data in the existing and new reports do not match at all.

I've finally discovered that this filter is what is causing the numbers to be different. From what I can tell, it's checking to see if the criteria matches, then setting a variable of 1.

If I remove this filter, then the data matches what I come up with on my test model. But, whatever this filter is doing is what is making the report be correct.

I can't find the filter that is using that variable of 1 that is being set. Is it secret javascript? Is it a hidden function? The analysis is not being run through a dashboard, so I don't see how any dashboard filter could be affecting it.

This filter is not visible anywhere in the BMM or any of the calculations on the columns in the models. It's literally hidden somewhere. Please help me find it! I've looked in Dev Tools at all the js and nothing looks out of the ordinary but I don't really know what I'm looking for specifically.

I think that at some point a person couldn't figure out how to get the calculations to work so they bypassed the BMM and measures and just went for it with some custom code somewhere.
