SE/SE1 processor core resource limits

Dan JankowskiSep 16 2014 — edited Sep 18 2014

I am aware that the Oracle license limits Standard Edition and Standard Edition One to be run on servers having up to four and two CPU sockets respectively. However, multi-core processors are counted as one, so it is possible to run SE/SE1 on more cores than the 4/2 processor limits.

if using multi-core processors (or vCPUs in a virtualised environment), are there any hard-coded resource constraints or built-in limits in the product which restrict the number of cores available for concurrent database operations? Are there any more stringent constraints on SE1 compared with SE, or could both theoretically achieve the same CPU utilisation as an EE instance on the same hardware?
