scsi DATA IN phase parity error

awacs5Dec 19 2010 — edited Dec 21 2010
I have solaris 8 image I put on a larger disk but every time I power up I get this parity error.

I've done some googleing which seems to suggest its a hardware cable or terminator issue. But the strange thing is I've installed Ubuntu linux on the same disk and there was no problems boot from it. No parity errors.

further I can boot off the cdrom and get a root shell and mount the disk with no problems. All the image file system can be seen and modified with out errors.

I think something is wrong with the boot program, but I don't know how to fix it. Anyone here had similar issues? or know what to do next?
