Schema Compare Tool In Visual Studio 2013

user13025492Jul 21 2014 — edited Jul 21 2014

Hi,

I have Visual Studio 2013 and have installed ODT 12.1.0.1.2.  I am attempting to use the schema comparison tool to validate a new Oracle server that is being setup to be similar to an existing server.  There are approximately a dozen schemas that I am attempting to validate with the tool.  The login that I have been provided with has visibility to those schemas and I am able to see the database objects contained in those schemas using Server Explorer by adjusting the filter on the connection to show them in the tree view.  The schema belonging to the login has no useful data and is not part of the validation process.

When I start the schema comparison tool, it asks for the source and target connections.  I select the appropriate connects which have been setup in Server Explorer.  However, the tool seems to only compare the schema owned by the login and I have found no options to choose a different schema.  Is this possible?  Or is the tool hardwired to the schema owned by the login?

(Sorry about any inaccurate terminology.  I do not normally deal with Oracle databases).

Thanks in advance.
