Scheduled OWB jobs hang after DB restart

580180Apr 8 2008 — edited Apr 24 2008
Hi,

We have some scheduled jobs in our OWB setup that run once every day in the morning. Also, every Sunday morning our Database is shut down for some maintenance activities and is again brought up again (much before the scheduled start of the OWB jobs). However, every time the DB is restarted, the OWB scheduled jobs fail to execute and just keep hanging. The "hanging" jobs also appear in the result-set of the following query:

select item_type,item_key
from wf_item_activity_statuses where activity_status<>'COMPLETE';

Sometimes when we delete the jobs that are in the result set of the above query and restart the database, the scheduled jobs get back on track - but for some recent instances even this "trick" does not seem to work. Also, it so happens that some of the scheduled jobs also manage to get completed successfully while others fail!

Does this mean that every time the DB is shutdown and brought up again, we need to start some OWB service(s) to take care of this?

For reference, following is the environment info of our set up:

--> OWB Client Version - 10.2.0.1.31

--> Repository Version - 10.2.0.1.0

--> Database Version - 10.2.0.3.0

--> OWF Version - 2.6.4

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Piyush
