Scalability of ApEx

Hi,

I am currently considering developing an application using ApEx. The application will run through Oracle Application Server and be integrated with portal and SSO. The system will initially have about 150 users which could grow to approx. 500 users later on down the line.

How well does ApEx typically scale with these sorts of numbers of users? Are there any known issues with ApEx when trying to scale applications?

It looks as if metalink is written using ApEx these days can anyone elaborate on this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
