We are putting a SQL Mirror Cluster in place, and want to make sure we use the proper disk setup. We have two tools to use for benchmark testing to test the different volumes we�ll be using. While I�m familiar with IOMeter, it has been suggested that this tool doesn�t represent a �typical database workload�. I was hoping someone has used IOMeter and can guide me to any reference material. I�m thumbing through the doc that comes with the tool be I�m not getting anywhere. There is also another tool called SQLIO.exe that was brought to my attention. Has anyone hear of or used this tool, and could maybe give an opinion as to its effectiveness?
