After deploying JRE package in our enterprise environment within newly obtained CA cert as a succesor of an existing, the names of the certificates in that store are the same. Of course validation date and fingerprints are different. So the older cert will be expired soon.
My questions / expectations are:
a) as long as the old certificate is valid, keeping the same named certificates in the store will not make any trouble or issues?! Am i right ?
b) after expiration of older one, the newer one will be automatically active and effective
c) Do the applets "realize" the change? How an applet "knows" which certificate is actually required, based on the different fingerprints?
It would be perfect if a technical support staff could answer me these questions shortly. thx
