RXTX comm installation?

hello,
i am trying to install rxtx's comm API on my Linux machine, but am having trouble. i thought that i followed all the instructions, but two things happened: when i ran their test bash "java -classpath BlackBox.jar:$CLASSPATH BlackBox", i get a NoClassDefFoundError Exception. also, when i open eclipse, it does not recognize the import.
