Running window's report on unix

476865Dec 15 2005 — edited Dec 15 2005
I am confused by the threads I have found on this forum about running reports developed on the windows report builder (R6i) from the unix prompt. Some threads say that the report has to be compiled on unix. Some threads say that they don't - just move the RDF file. Perhaps its a matter of terminology - "compile" vs. "run".

Is "rwcon60" used to compile the report? If so, is the source file the "rdf" file? Is the "rep" file used? A link to documentation (parameters, options, etc.) for the command would be appreciated.

Is "rwrun60" used to run the compiled report? It's "input module" seems to be the "rdf" file. Again, a link to documentation would be appreciated.

I do not have either command or manual pages on my unix box at this point. I'm trying to determine what I need.

Thanks for being patient with my ignorance.
