Running iBots results in warning: rejected by the mail server 5.7.1

We're trying to run iBots in one of our many environments.
We manage to create and save iBots. But are not receiving the email alert in this one environment. In Job Manager we get the following warning.
"Warning: Recipient user@xyz.com (FTU Notes) rejected by the mail server 5.7.1 <user@xyz.com (FTU Notes)>... Access denied"
We are however able to run iBots sucessfully to the same recipients from environments other than this one, and to the same mail server.
Is a change required in the settings of the email client? Any pointers in this regard would be appreciated.
