rt.jar ???

Dear All

I am boundling the jre along with our application to spare the users the download of the required JVM. As you understand, every byte counts!
As we all know rt.jar is THE biggest file in the jre. In the matter of fact its size is 41.207.306 bytes (java 1.6). Then again when I uncompress it and recompress it using winzip i get 20.097.671 bytes !!!

Am I missing something ? I started our application and everything looks fine. I havent tested the whole functionality but it seems to be ok. Then again there are 20MB gonne!

Does anyone know what is happening???
Does SUN prepare the rt.jar without compression?
