rpm compatibility between UBL, CentOS, & Redhat

6321Mar 28 2007 — edited Apr 20 2007
Hi,

Can you use the same rpm's across UBL, CentOS, & Redhat RHEL4/5? I know there are possibly differences in the compilation of the source code, but basically once you are dealing with a live OS are the three distros/flavors essentially identical from the perspective of installing rpms? For example I have some RPMs for RHEL4 for fonts that I want to put onto UBL.

Also - is UBL really based on CentOS or based on RHEL4/5? Or did they do their own seperate compilation?
