Rowid Range Scan in v$session_longops

185036Aug 24 2011 — edited Aug 24 2011
Hi,

I am using Oracle 10.2.0.4

I am running a query with full hint on the biggest table TRN, explain plan is also showing FTS:
|* 19 | TABLE ACCESS FULL | PB_TRNSCT_DTL | 33M| 3042M| | 1108K (1)| 01:13:53 | KEY | KEY | Q1,02 | PCWP | |

But when I am checking the v$session_longops it is showing me opname as:

Rowid Range Scan REVCYC2QA_T.PB_TRNSCT_DTL

Q1. Why CBO is not doing Full table scan and doing Rowid Range Scan although full hint is provided?
Q3. How can we avoid rowid range scan, if it is not good, to improve performance.

Thanks
