ROWID and INDEX in Oracle.

BS2012Sep 9 2014 — edited Sep 9 2014

Hi Everyone,

I've a doubt regarding the behavior of rowids and indexes.

Please go through these links, and tell me, how these two are different while retrieving rows efficiently?

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/pseudocolumns008.htm

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/indexes.htm

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but when we insert rows into a table, they are automatically identified by their rowids, then after indexing what kind of changes happening here?

Can you guys please show me something, what's happening to a table structure (basically to rowids) with and without indexing??

Regards,

BS2012.
