routing external emails to an email gateway

We were given an email gateway to use to route all our emails. I used daemon <routing host full name>. However the port is not standard. It uses 587. further the connection requires authentication. I have username/password. Can this be done in imta.cnf or is sun messaging server not supporting. I am running
imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u2-7.02 32bit (built Apr 16 2009)
libimta.so 7u2-7.02 32bit (built 02:02:17, Apr 16 2009)

Any help on this will be very much helpful
