Roles vs. Responsibilities

608392Nov 18 2007 — edited Nov 19 2007
Some of you may be familiar with the Responsibilities feature of Oracle E-Business Suite. The Responsibilities feature allows an individual to have more than one responsibility in an module. For e.g., in Oracle Payables, you can be assigned "Payables Manager" and "Payables Clerk" responsibility.

When you sign-on, you choose the responsibility, and you get access to the appropriate menu items. The module provides you a "responsibility switcher" for switching responsibility once you are logged in and appropriate menu items for the new responsibility are presented again.

Now my questions:

1) Is there an easy way to implement similar functionality using JHeadstart's security features?

2) Within the Jheadstart Module, can a user have more than one Role?

3) How do you choose a particular role at the login time?

4) How can you implement the role switching capability?

Appreciate your comments / recommendations.

John
