RMI Implementation in WAN / Dial-Up Network.

Hi...There

Can we Use RMI Application on WAN / Dial-Up Network.
What Exactly i need is As Follow..

- Database Interaction Classes On Server
- Client will lookUp Spefific Objects to Access tables of Database without Direct Connection to Database by passsing parameters to Remote Functions.

I don't wan't to Connect to Database By Using JDBC from remote Host. i just want to look up Remote Object which resides on Server it Self.

Pl. Guide Me
I haven't Worked out much with RMI
