rmi and ipv6

if rmiregstry support ipv6 on jdk1.5.0
In my test , I want to bind a IPv6 address to rmiregstry , and I use following command :
rmiregistry -J-Djava.rmi.server.hostname="ipv6 address ."
but my programe can't bind to the rmiserver.
why?
any suggestion is appreciated!
