RMAN RESTORE PERFORMANCE IS VERY VERY SLOW

Hi All,

We have 1TB 11g database, where RMAN took 3hours to take the backup to Disk.
Restore from disk was taking more time say about 17 hours.

Note:-

The same reporting DB in 10g is taking 3hours to backup the DB and less than 6 hours to restore the DB.
We have followed different work arounds like increasign the RMAN I/O buffer size, taking backup to the same disk and restore it. none of them helped.
we are running in solaris 10. this is critical issue we are facing, any help from you guys really appreciated.
