RMAN question.

Da HaiNov 17 2010 — edited Nov 18 2010
I use this scipt to backup whole db and archive log at every night.

run {
allocate channel d1 type disk;
sql 'alter system archive log current';
backup
archivelog all delete all input;
Backup as compressed backupset database;
release channel d1;
delete force noprompt obsolete;
}

Rman is configured like,

RMAN configuration parameters are:
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 3;
CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION ON;
CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default
CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;
CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '/dbdump/xxx/%F';
CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK BACKUP TYPE TO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET PARALLELISM 1;
CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT '/dbdump/xxx/%d_%T_%s_%p_%t';
CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default
CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default
CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default
CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/dbdump/xxx/snapcf_xxx.f';

because RETENTION POLICY is set to REDUNDANCY 3, how about those backuped archivelogs, how
RAMN mark them as 'obsolete' and delete them?

(if RETENTION POLICY is set to recovery window of 5 days, I can understand, so any backuped archivelogs
before 5 days will be as 'obsolete' and deleted)

thanks
