RMAN how to remove information about backups from controlfile an catalog

756526Mar 12 2010 — edited Mar 12 2010
Hi,

I have the following problem. My database control file keeps records about backup that I`v made using RMAN(to disk) and Symantec Backup Exec(to tape). The same informations are in catalog database. Now I want to remove all this information form Control File and catalog.
How to do this?

I have made crosscheck backup and then delete expired and obsolete backup. Now my CF does not have information about disk backups but have about this taken to tape. Catalog keeps track about all backups taken to disk and from BE to tape. How to remove all that informations from both cf an catalog(withaout droping and recreating CF and Catalog)?

I want to have target and catalog database showing that till date non backups have been taken.

p.s. it is my first post here,
p.s.2. sorry for my english, please be tolerant :)
