RMAN does not connect to target database

hi,
I have setup Oracle 11gR2 databases on OEL 5...now when I try to connect to target database from RMAN with the command:

RMAN> connect target sys/oracle@MS112DGP

i get the following errors:

RMAN-00571:=============================================================
RMAN-00569:======================ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS==================
RMAN-00571:==============================================================
ORA-12514: TNS: listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor

plz can anyone guide me to fix this issue...
