RMAN Backup Test

Hi Friends,

I have scheduled a job to backup the database.Now I want to test this backup job.I created a new database in the server(I had to create a new one because the database that is being backed up is an important database so I can't test on it).Now how can I carry the backups to the new database and then test the backup?
