RMAN backup location issue

007Dec 22 2014 — edited Dec 24 2014

Hi,

I am using oracle database 11g (11.2.0.1.0) in OEL (Oracle enterprise linux).I am trying to take backup of the database with backup location to nfs shared location.

THE RMAN CONFIGURATION OF DB IS SHOWN BELOW

=====================================================

RMAN> show all;

using target database control file instead of recovery catalog

RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name ORADB are:

CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1; # default

CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; # default

CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default

CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;

CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '/u01/bkp/CONTROL_%F';

CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default

CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default

CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default

CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default

CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default

CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default

CONFIGURE COMPRESSION ALGORITHM 'BASIC' AS OF RELEASE 'DEFAULT' OPTIMIZE FOR LOAD TRUE ; # default

CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default

CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/u01/bkp/snapcf_ORADB.f';

Using the below script i fire the backup in the database.

BACKUP DATABASE plus archivelog FORMAT='/u01/bkp/Full_plus_arch_%U' ;

I have mentioned  /u01/bkp/ montpoint location  in the above script which is a nfs share locatioand control file auto backup also set to this location only.But still i can see my backup is going to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs .

How to avoid this???

I want all the backups to go to my NFS shared mountpoint (/u01/bkp)
