ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status

Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory

Additional information: 3

I am using Oracle 11.2.0.3 and an ASM file system.  We are using an spfile, but since it is an ASM filesystem , it is located at +DATA/PPPTT1R/PARAMETERFILE/spfile.303.911472519. Why would it looking for an non-existing spfile, and how can I remove it from RMAN?  Thanks so much.
