RMAN (10gR2) and Exabyte VXA-2 on Windows
484631Jun 11 2006 — edited Jun 12 2006TPTB have decided that we're going to use Exabyte's VXA-2 technology for our Oracle backup strategy. Toward this end, I have a new Exabyte VXA-2 PacketLoader 1x10 library.
RMAN can speak to many tapes directly, but is it smart enough to speak to this one without additional drivers? I ask because Exabyte is very emphatic about the drivers for Windows. Exabyte says that the drivers will cause commercial backup solutions to stop working, and that they are "extremely" difficult to un-install.
So- before I do something stupid, do I need any additional drivers to talk to this beast from RMAN?
