Retaining value of a check box after submit button click

I am having a datatable with say 10 check boxes.and i am making my checkboxes selected onload populating from the database if he had checked it before and its been saved to the database.and suppose i select 2 more checkboxes now and click on the submit button,the values in the checkbox are getting refreshed and i am not able to see the values which i have selected now and that is selected before.can u please help me solve this problem....Thanx a lot.....
