Restore the database for testing purpose?

894623Nov 8 2011 — edited Nov 8 2011
Hi,

Im working on a testing server to setup backup/restore using Rman. We use oracle 11g on linux 64 bit(AWS instance).

I did the schedule daily backup using Oracle-Suggested backup, to tape. I need to test whether backup can be restored when it is required(like data corrupted). So shall i test it now using Perform restore option on current running database.

and one more thing is shall i delete the archive log files. becoz i see the Oracle-Suggested backup not deleting the archived log files after taking backup.

Im new to rman.

Please let me know

Thanks
