Restore the ability to retrieve the Event Log by entering an Event Number

Claudia BaldisseraFeb 10 2026 — edited Feb 10 2026

In NMS version 2.3, users could type an Event Number into the Event Log and press Enter to pull up that specific event, even if it had been merged into another event. In NMS 2.6/25.12, however, the Event Number is now read‑only in the header, and the search capability has been removed.

This functionality was essential for tracking merged events. For example, if Event 1 is sent to our downstream systems to generate a work order or is used by mobile crews, that event number becomes tied to all related work, including follow‑up tasks. If Event 1 is later merged into Event 2 within NMS, there is currently no way to look up the original Event 1.

Previously, entering Event 1 in the Event Log would display that it had been merged into Event 2, allowing users to then open Event 2 and review the full event details. Without this feature, investigating merged events or tracing historical work becomes very difficult to achieve.
