restore full database until scn or timestamp

John-MKAug 1 2012 — edited Aug 1 2012
Hi,

I have heard that restoring full database until time is 3 lines work with RMAN. I want to restore RAC db (10.2.0.5, RHL) until Monday 6pm when full backup (level 0) gets over.

Can you please write me the steps how can I perform this like RMAN set until time, restore and recover? Also, do I need downtime/shutdown/restart of the database?

Actually, I want to restore only one schema (separate tablespace is there only for that user), but If it is lengthy or difficult procedure that's why I am thinking of full database restore - not ideal of course.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best Regards
