restore DB from a crashed hard disk

anand_gpSep 26 2019 — edited Sep 27 2019

Hello,

I wanted to know the steps needed to recover Oracle 9i (9.2.x) db from a crashed HDD.  Hard disk crashed when Oracle was up and running.  The hard disk has been recovered with its files intact but OS (Windows XP) not working.

Now, one more system with the same version of OS and same version of Oracle has been installed.  I wanted to know the steps involved in restoring the DB.  I suppose I need to copy below set of files before trying to recover?

All DBF files under oradata (control, sysaux, system, temp, undo, users, etc.,)

init.ora and spfile*.ora

all files under "..\server\database\" folder

online log files

listener, tnsnames, etc., under "..\NETWORK\ADMIN\" folder

Please let me know restore steps for Oracle 9i.  Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,

-Anand
