restore controlfile

user9541720Feb 22 2011 — edited Feb 22 2011
I use autobackup to backup my controlfile. Then I use "backup device type sbt backupset all;" to backup my backups to tape. I can see in the backup log file that controlfile autobackup piece is written to tape.

I am simulating a DR bare metal rebuild and I can't seem to restore the controlfile from tape. How do I get the controlfile from tape.

Note: This is my rman catalog backup. I do a similar backup for other databases using the rman catalog and it easily gets the controlfile from tape.
