Reset timer isn't working properly. Find Timer always comes back null....?

I'm trying to get a timer to count down and Clear_Form when the timer expires. I'm trying to reset the timer when you move the mouse or enter text in any fields (for those using tab keys to navigate the page).

I've tried procedures to "Create" and "Delete" the timer, and it didn't work.

I've tried the Built-In Set_timer to "reset" the timer, instead of creating and deleting timers, and it didn't work either.

I'm building an applications for a general customer to input their personal information at a kiosk in the waiting room lobby, before an appointment with a representative, which will save everyone time during the appointment. The timer will be to clear the personal info in case a customer just leaves during the process.

The timer always just keeps firing over and over again, and I cannot get it to stop/reset/create new timer when the mouse is moved etc... so it just keeps clearing out info over and over again, which is not the desired effect.

Could anyone please help me? It seems like this should be a pretty basic function to program, but I'm not finding any posts relating to my issue. I am using Oracle 9i and Forms 10g.
