Reports 6i shows duplicate lines (rows)

Hi,
I have a report 6i that is showing duplicate lines of data. The same SQL when executed in TOAD returns single records. I tried changing my SQL to return unique rows only but that is effecting the response time when the returned data is multiple pages.
Can someoone please help ... Also my reports knowledge is limited
