Reports 6i : Page Setup (on printout) is not saved, Margin error. Win XP.

Hello! I'm currently having problems printing my Reports 6i (DB 8i patch 17) on Windows XP.

I can't seem to save my margin/page layout setting. Whenever i check my margin its always set such that it occupies the entire page and no actual printout is printed.

I change the values on all sides to .5 and it prints normally (quality is always set to Normal).

Whenever i go to Printer option to set the printout quality to FAST DRAFT, the margin reverts back to the original problem above.

Any suggestions as to how i can solve this strange problem?

My printer is HP deskjet 6540. My report mode = default, desformat is dflt, destype = preview, orientation = portrait.

PS.. What exactly is the difference between character and bitmap modes? I take it the former is used with analog printers while the later is used with laserjets. Am i correct?
