Replication: LSN difference increasing

756787Dec 17 2010 — edited Dec 17 2010
Hi,

We have noticed that the difference in our replication scheme's 'Replication hold LSN' and 'Last Written LSN' is increasing.

Setup:
2 Active-Active masters with 4 read only subscribers.
All tables are replicated between the masters but a smaller subset is replicated to the read-only subscribers.

Recent output of the -bookmark command
$ ttRepAdmin -dsn mastdsn -bookmark
Replication hold LSN ...... 801/38828576
Last written LSN .......... 805/3493000
Last LSN forced to disk ... 805/3493000

The difference in log files is 5, which I think is alarming?

'ttRepAdmin -dsn mastdsn -receiver -list' also shows 'Logs' as 5 for all subscribers including the other master.

Now, the funny thing is that our experiments show that changes in master is being reflected to subscribers. This obviously is what confusing us.

The other master which does not do anything as it is on standby shows
$ ttRepAdmin -dsn mast2dsn -bookmark
Replication hold LSN ...... 805/29448712
Last written LSN .......... 805/29477200
Last LSN forced to disk ... 805/29477200

Thanks,
Raj
