Replicating BSO DTS behavior in ASO for Freeform App (Period Dimension only)

Shubham_Panchal5 days ago

Hi Community,

I am working on an Oracle Planning Freeform application and have a requirement regarding Dynamic Time Series (DTS) on the reporting side.

Current Setup:

  • Application Type: Freeform
  • Cubes: BSO (Input) and ASO (Reporting)
  • Period Dimension: I have enabled standard DTS (Y-T-D, Q-T-D) on the Period dimension.

The Issue: The DTS functionality is working perfectly on the BSO cube. However, I need to enable/replicate this functionality on the ASO cube as well.

The Constraint: I strictly want to avoid creating a separate "View" dimension to handle MDX formulas for time intelligence. I want to keep the dimensionality clean and aligned with the BSO cube as much as possible.

My Question: Is there a native way to push the Period dimension's DTS properties to ASO in a Freeform app? If not, what is the best practice to achieve YTD/QTD reporting on ASO within the existing Period dimension structure (e.g., creating specific members with MDX) without introducing a new dimension?

Any insights or code snippets for the MDX approach within the Period dimension would be appreciated.

Thanks!
