Replacing Enter key(chr(10)) values in Long datatype

Hi,

I have column with long datatype. its having enter key values , I mean new lines chr(10). I need to replace those with chr(32).

Could any body help me pls . When I'm trying to do it i'm getting an error inconsistent datatype.
