Replace special characters like &, ?, =

Hi,

I am using JSP; I have a text area and an update button in my form; whenever we enter anything in the textarea and click on update button the contents get saved in the log file. But my concern is when I try to enter any link it throws an exception "A Error has been caught" and the link does not get updated.

I have tried to replace the special characters using the replaceAll(), tried to read each character and replace the special character whenever it comes. But it gave me the same error.

Kindly help me with this.
